Sustainable green roof for Gurgaon residential community club

Gurgaon-based architecture and design firm Studio KIA has designed the Sare Club at Crescent ParC (Sector 92), which aims to be an organic and free-flowing project blending with its green environment. Spread over a vast seven-acre campus, the project appears to be inspired by its surroundings itself.

The accessible green roof starting from the lawns is a highlighting feature in itself, apart from being sustainable. Apart from maintaining the temperature in summer and reduce air-conditioning costs, part of the green slope has been planned as an amphitheater without altering the ground profile. The parapets along the green roof have been shaped to give an aerodynamic appeal to the structure.

An outdoor swimming pool is alongside the children’s swimming pool with a timber deck and a seating area. Tennis and badminton courts, skating park, cycling track, jogging trail, a children’s play area, golf court are entwined with manicured gardens, dense forest, seating pavilions, and water features.

An outdoor pool for swimming laps or leisure swim is alongside a kid’s pool with a timber deck and ample seating area. The amphitheater will allow cultural interaction. Outdoor activities include tennis and badminton courts, skating park, cycling track, jogging trail, kids play area, golf putting greens, etc. all of these activities are cohesively entwined with a generous spread of manicured greens, a dense forest, seating pavilions, and water features. Vehicular and pedestrian access has been emphasized keeping with the residential blocks.

Said to be the largest residential community club in the region, the club has a retail piazza. The club and banquets have independent drop-offs from a drive-in transitional court; with separate entrance, lobbies segregating the guests of the club from the banquet guests. The banquet hall gives a view of the tree-lined backdrop with an independent service yard and support areas.

A grand double-height lobby overlooks the greenery and the pool deck, complete with a fine-dine restaurant and a bar. The active zone includes a fully-equipped gymnasium, indoor games rooms, squash and an indoor heated pool with support infrastructure. The passive zone offers a reading room and a library rolled into one, along with an amphitheater.
