Rajasthani heritage for Jaipur studio
Jaipur-based Marie Anne Oudejans has designed the Gem Palace in Jaipur, a studio that is a perfect amalgamation of European influences and traditional Rajasthani flavors. Inspired by the Pink City with an element of desert along with beauty and heritage that embraces the glamour of jewels.
Four oil paintings consisting of a view of a lake with lotus flowers for the floor are a tribute to the late legendary jewelry designer Munnu Kasliwal. Inspired by the Pink City, a deep-pink color palette and spinel stone embraces the jewelry and heritage of the Gem Palace. Sand color with hints of white add a fresh and clean touch. The walls are made of fabric in the shape of a tent, which is inspired by the desert scenes of Rajasthan. High-arched doors and windows are painstakingly painted with Mughal-inspired flowers, giving out their signature Rajasthani style. Jewels are displayed in the museum in formal, high-arched designed boxes.
