Chennai-based architecture and design firm Triple O Studio has designed the Government School in Thoraipakkam, Chennai. The client brief was to redesign the school from an existing plan into an impactful learning zone.
Sixteen classrooms have been designed for the school, each measuring 20 ft. x 20 ft. to house forty children. The 6154 sq. ft. site area breaks the concept of a conventional school structure with the use of jaalis. It has used height differences in the upper-level corridors that invite in daylight and ventilation in an urban city.
