Elegance redefined for Bengaluru family home

Bengaluru-based architecture and design firm Duttan & Kannan Architects have designed the Crown Aura family home, which is nothing less of a visual treat due to its exciting blend of colors and materials. The client wanted a design that was functional, child-friendly yet elegant in its aesthetic. Also, the project incorporates plenty of pastel colors, high-gloss surfaces, exclusive marble, custom-made veneers, handcrafted decorative mirrors and wallpapers to enhance its luxury quotient.

The neutral color palette consists of beiges and browns complimented with blues and matte gold accents, which defines luxury yet retaining the feeling of home. Large blown glass chandeliers and recessed lights are used to set the mood in the home through smart integrated technology. Each of the rooms features custom-designed smart control systems that allow them to set the lights and the air conditioning according to their comfort.

The living-cum-dining area, master bedroom, and other family spaces overlook an open balcony that provides sweeping views of the city. The balcony extends the expansive living room and features a custom handcrafted marble wall and comfortable outdoor seating. Large glass sliding doors can be opened to extend the living space to accommodate a large gathering for the family’s religious and social gatherings. The family space houses a high-end home theater system with speakers and a projector system. Technology is given a musical upgrade with a centralized music system with walls with custom-designed acoustic paneling that helps improve the acoustic quality.

The aqua-themed children’s room has custom hand-painted walls and ceiling along with a themed bed and concealed storage spaces for the child’s belongings. Every room has an accent that beautifully balances the neutral material color palette, while the art and décor collection simply adds to the beauty. Thoughtful details such as round edges and soft furnishings cater to the child’s safety, while the grandparents’ room plays with matte spaces.

The marble pooja-room is the centerpiece of the house with a custom-made onyx marble floor and white marble jali walls. The materials have been sourced by artisans from Rajasthan, and its strategic positioning enables it to be seen from anywhere in the living room. The powder room is done in exclusive black marble with rose-gold accents and custom handcrafted wall mirror and wall tiles.
