Cartoon character brought to life in Bengaluru cafe

Bengaluru-based architecture and design firm Behl Construction Company has designed Mr. Goofy’s Café & Bakery, Urban Nest Hotel, which is based on the fictional character of the same name. The eclectic studio features colorful exteriors with a variety of exciting elements.

As soon as one enters the café, they are greeted by a life-size statue of Mr. Goofy. The character’s entire life story is depicted through eye-popping wall graphics, false ceiling, and fittings, with a gradual shift in wall colors that depict each phase of Mr. Goofy’s life. The ground level describes the young life of Mr. Goofy while the mezzanine floors represent his affluent life-phase as unfolded throughout the café.

The café uses raw Sheesham and mango wood on MS, and wrought-iron frames for the tables. Modern chairs and sofas made constructed with a variety of materials have been used according to the theme. Refurbished automotive scraps have been used to mount the juice bar counter and fashion a reception table. Each of the walls has been colorfully decorated with caricatures and dialogues of the character, which add to the humor and enthusiasm to the ambiance. The soft lighting highlights the glossy marble flooring, as well as the large clock that takes the center stage.

Quirky details such as orange-and-black balloons and a black hat adorn the brightly-colored walls. Thus, most customers are left reminiscing their memories of Mr. Goofy while others are interested to know more about him.
