Black, grey and white color palette for New Delhi menswear store

Mumbai-based Design Lab Vyoma has designed the Steffano Ricci flagship store at the Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi. Spread over 3000 sq. ft., the client brief was to create a design that reflected the high-end luxury menswear and maximized visibility and footfall. Two Vaastu-compliant entrances were devised with one edge facing the shopping arcade while the other faces the hotel lobby. The longer length of the shop faces the arcade and was used to maximize the window display area.

Flexible display racks require minimal maintenance but can be modified to add or replace collection pieces. Grey, white and black tones lend a masculine vibe to the space, with the muted and monochromatic color palette highlighting the outfits. Such colors symbolize power, luxury, strength, and authority – representing the brand image as well. Each of the chosen colors tells a story – black and grey molding creates a sense of depth and curiosity by retaining attention on the colorful merchandise. White represents cleanliness, freshness, calmness, modernity, and minimalism splashed across the walls and ceilings highlighting the grey-patterned floor.

A crisp and functional layout was preferred with rectangular space divisions, which offers an unobstructed 360-degree view of the store. Zones have been planned to accomplish the maximum display area with all four peripheral edges. Used as a display area, the space remains clutter-free and looks visually expansive. The store owner’s cabin features a VIP section that caters to bespoke orders and friendly conversations over tea.
